We have a selective breeding program at Leatherwood Kennels. We are passionate about our Chesapeake Bay and Labrador Retrievers and it is our mission to better these breeds with every litter. All of our dogs are proven, whether in the Field as a Hunting Companion, an AKC Hunt Test/Field Trial Competitor, or as a Family Pet. We invite you to meet our Dogs.

Brawn

All of our dogs are AKC Titled, or are working toward their Title(s). The yet-to-be Titled dogs have done the work in training and/or hunting and are expected to earn at least their AKC Senior Hunter titles in 2011. We offer Pups from a few litters a year, and take pride in being responsible Owners and Breeders. We will ALWAYS give our MAmas at least one heat cycle's break from Motherhood to allow their bodies time to recuperate. We are proactive in our Breeding Program, and all of our dogs will have been tested prior to their being bred for the appropriate Certifications/Genetic Tests, Including:

• OFA Hips
• OFA Elbows
• EIC (Labs)
• CNM (Labs)
• DM (Chessie)
• CERF

Our relationship with our Puppies' Owners doesn't stop at the sale of the Puppy; we counsel on Crate-Training, offer Puppy Head Start Classes, and enroll many into our Obedience and/or Personal Gun Dog Training Program.

Our Males are available for Stud to approved Bitches. Stud Fees vary based upon Pedigree and Title(s). In addition, we require females to have the above appropriate Certifications/Genetic Testing. Last, we require proof of current Vaccinations, including:

• Rabies
• Distemper/Parvo
• Bordatella
• Negative Fecal
• Negative Brucellosis

We reserve the right to decline a breeding if Certifications/Genetic Testing is not up to our Standards and/or Vaccination Protocol.
